If like me, you love your food, but need to go on a diet (like I am at the minute), then you need to rethink what you are eating and portion sizes, I searched the internet and found recipes for Turkey burgers and they all came up as very bland, so through trial and error, I have created my own recipe for my healthy homemade diet Turkey burger and hope that you enjoy it too.

  1. 450g of Turkey Mince
  2. 2x eggs
  3. Diced onions
  4. 1x tsp of black pepper
  5. 1x tsp of salt
  6. 1x tsp of ground/minced garlic
  7. 1x tsp of parsley
  8. 1x tsp of light soy sauce

  1. Bowl
  2. fork
  3. teaspoon (tsp)
  4. Grill/BBQ
  5. Cling film
  6. Fridge
  7. Plate
  8. Chopping board

Total Time To Create Your Healthy Homemade Diet Turkey Burgers

Prep Time: 10 mins (leave in the fridge for 20 minutes) | Cooking Time: 16 Minutes | Total Time: 26 mins + 20 mins fridge (46 minutes)

1.   Crack the 2x eggs, add a 1x tsp of black pepper, 1x tsp of salt, 1x tsp of minced garlic, 1x tsp of parsley, 1x tsp of light soy sauce and add the diced onions and mix together.

2.  Add the Turkey mince and mix with the rest of the ingredients until thoroughly mixed.

3.  Divide the mixture into 6 equal balls and place them onto the chopping board.

4. Press each of the burgers down with the palm of your hand until 1-2 cm thick

5. You can cook it straight away, but I like to stick the burgers on a plate cover with cling film and place in the fridge for around 20 minutes to allow the burgers to stick together without falling apart.

6. Take out of the Fridge and put on a pre-heated grill, cooking on each side for 7-8 minutes till cooked through on booth sides.

7. Serve with or without a bun and enjoy.

Other Tips

1.   If you have made too many burgers, instead of cooking them all stick them in the freezer and use them for another time.

2. Instead of serving with chips, make some homemade sweet potato fries (recipe coming up next week).
